Ansu Fati, who famously acquired Lionel Messi’s legendary No. 10 shirt after his departure, has dropped down the Barcelona pecking order and is viewed by Xavi as surplus to needs.
Tottenham had been rumored to be interested in the star winger, but Brighton have gotten the jump on their Premier League rivals by moving closer to making the trade before the deadline.
He will formally sign a season-long loan with the Seagulls after being pleased by Roberto De Zerbi.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, it is estimated that Brighton will cover 80% of Ansu Fati’s salary this year.
He reportedly makes around £200,000 per week at Barcelona, according to prior reports.
As a result, he will receive a salary from Brighton of almost £160,000 per week, which is nearly twice the amount of any other player at the team.
Adam Lallana has the highest salary at the moment at £90,000, according to Spotrac. He earns more than captain Lewis Dunk, who is thought to make £80,000 per week.
Ansu Fati completed his studies at Barcelona’s renowned youth programme before making his club debut in the 2019–20 campaign.
For the team at Camp Nou, he has made 112 appearances and has scored 12 goals in all competitions.
Due to the lack of a buy option in the deal, he will instead play in England’s top division for one season before returning to Barcelona.
