Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal ‘SET DATE’ to ANNOUNCE the signing of Lionel Messi – Reports

June 3, 2023

On June 6, Al Hilal reportedly plans to declare the acquisition of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Lionel Messi.

The Saudi Pro League club, according to SPORT, have picked this date as the occasion to finalize Messi’s agreement and make preparations for the announcement. They do this in order to get the historic word out about the arrival of the Argentine legend to Saudi Arabia.

When PSG’s season is done, the 35-year-old is expected to decide where his next club will be. Today (June 3), when his team plays Clermont Foot at the Parc des Princes, he will make his final appearance while wearing the Parisian colors. Lionel Messi wants to decide on his future soon so that it doesn’t become an ongoing transfer saga.

Even though PSG want the World Cup winner to stay at the French capital, all the signs point to him leaving the club. He can choose from a variety of possibilities depending on where he wants to go.

Despite their desire for a reunion with their best player, FC Barcelona is now unable to put together a viable strategy that would persuade La Liga that a hypothetical free transfer would make financial sense.

Al Hilal, however, has a huge proposition in store for the 35-year-old in Saudi Arabia. El Chiringuito reports that Lionel Messi would overtake generational rival Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of Forbes’ list of the World’s Highest-Paid Athletes with an annual salary of about €350 million ($375 million).
