On Friday, Neymar made his official Saudi Pro League debut with Al Hilal, but the Brazilian’s supporters weren’t pleased that he was held without a goal in his first match.
The Brazilian star came off the bench for midfielder Michael in the 64th minute. Even though he registered an assist, he was denied his first goal for the club.
Al Hilal was given a penalty kick in the 87th minute of the match against Al Riyadh, and Neymar took the ball towards the penalty area. The 31-year-old was prepared and waiting to take the kick, but Salem Al-Dawsari, a club veteran, decided he wanted to take the penalty kick.
The winger has an astonishing 223 appearances for his youth team, but Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium spectators felt that the 32-year-old had denied Neymar Jr. of his big chance.
In the video footage, an echo of boos could be heard making their way around the stadium as the winger headed towards the ball.

Al-Dawsari, however, didn’t let the criticism stop him and promptly scored the game’s first goal. His second goal followed in the 95th minute.
As soon as the crowd was calmed down, Neymar joined the winger in celebrating the goal, demonstrating that there were no grudges.
